Our team
Our enthusiastic and motivated team
would like to introduce itself to you!
Danielle Ternatus,
managerial Foundation VIPvoorElkaar
Since 2019, I have been leading the organization VIPvoorElkaar.
I am very proud of all the volunteers who make a difference in the lives of many villagers every day! Via our platform VIPvoorElkaar: for and by residents of the municipality of Gilze and Rijen. There is room for everyone and we cherish all talents in our villages. Through VIP you can also become a buddy or participate in various activities. There are, among other things, Language Buddies, Vending Machines and Financial Buddies, DIY help in the garden and house, Repair Café, Budget Safari and we organize various meetings.
As an association, do you have questions about volunteer work or are you looking for new people? Do you want to be socially active as an entrepreneur or organization? As a resident, do you have ideas for activities in your neighborhood? Or would you like to discuss how you can use your talent for someone else and for yourself? Please contact us at viploket@vipvoorelkaar.nl or 06-57345182 .
Maud Bakx,
project coordinator Foundation VIPvoorElkaar
My name is Maud Bakx and I am a project coordinator at VIPvoorElkaar. Since February 2015, I have been part of the highly motivated team at VIPvoorElkaar. I am proud of the many wonderful projects that we as VIPvoorElkaar are able to carry out and initiate within our municipality. I am also proud of the many volunteers who are always ready to help others! VIP is for and by all residents in our municipality. I am committed to connecting great ideas, requests for help, providers of help, organizations and associations. So that everyone's talent can be utilized. In order to jointly strengthen our network even more and help everyone where possible.
Wim Helmer,
volunteer, Repair Café project coordinator
I have been coordinator of the Repair Café since 2016. You can come here every last Friday morning of the month with broken appliances, clothing, toys and other items. Our volunteers each have their own expertise and can repair almost anything. In this way we all ensure that equipment, clothing, etc. can last for a long time and that no replacement has to be purchased. Because: the less we throw away, the better it is for the environment!
Toon Faes,
volunteer, buddy and host at Repair Café Gilze and meeting place Gilze
The VIP had placed a request for additional volunteers via Weekblad Gilze en Rijen and I wanted to make myself useful, offer help, provide a service. This way the match was made quickly, without the site, because it was not yet on the air at the time. With this volunteer work I do not receive any money, but I receive something much more precious: Appreciation!
Ingeborg van Houdt,
project coordinator
"Friendship increases happiness and decreases misery, by doubling our joys, and sharing our sorrows."
I have been active for the VIP since the beginning of 2017. It has been the best decision of the year to commit myself to this wonderful organization. It is so satisfying to notice that through a simple action you can make someone else's life a lot more pleasant. Over the past year, more and more people have found us, those seeking help and volunteers. That is why I am happy that I have been employed by VIPvoorElkaar as a project coordinator since May 2021, so that I can contribute even more to all the great initiatives within our municipality in the field of volunteer work. Let's all give each other a helping hand!
Adri Schelfhorst,
volunteer, IT
There is a solution for every IT problem, that is not the problem. The solution, that is the problem.
Bertha Dijkstra,
team supporter
In October 2019 I started as a volunteer at the VIP secretariat. From 2021 I will be employed as a team supporter. My tasks are in the areas of PR, communication and administration. I can keep everyone informed about all our activities and projects through our website, social media and the weekly magazine. I also take care of the administration of various components. In this way I contribute to what VIP stands for: connecting people seeking help and volunteers and bringing people together through our projects and (group) activities.
Nathalie van Daesdonk, AutoMaatje project coordinator
Since November 2019, I have been committed to VIPvoorElkaar with great pleasure. I started as a volunteer at the VIP counter. I am now coordinator of the AutoMaatje transport project. I also occasionally sit at the VIP counter in the shopping center on Thursdays. I joined VIP as a project coordinator on August 16, 2021. I am very happy with that and I hope to be able to do even more for our great projects. When I visit a person seeking help for an intake, it sometimes turns out that there are also other requests for help. It gives me great satisfaction if I can and can help with that. I hope that more and more people will find VIP in the future. Whether as a person seeking help or as a volunteer, one-off or for a longer period of time, there is always something to be found. Beautiful and rewarding work to do, that makes me happy too!
José Schrijnewerkers,
volunteer, project coordinator VIP helps with the job
I came to live in Rijen in February 2020 and started at VIP a few months later as coordinator of the Klustmee project. People with a small network and a small budget can contact us for small jobs around the house (hanging or repairing something) or help in the garden if they are no longer able to do this themselves. As a coordinator, I do the intake at people's homes and plan the odd jobs and garden jobs for the volunteers. It is great work and it is satisfying to be able to help people in this way. And I already know my way around the municipality quite well.
Louis Chamuleau,
volunteer, language coach and coordinator at TaalVerbindt
Since my retirement, I have been a volunteer at VIP for four years now as a language coach for TaalVerbindt. My name is Louis Chamuleau, living in Rijen since 1982 and between 1993 and 2017 as an architect with my own office. As of March 1, 2021, I have become a coordinator within TaalVerbindt. This means: having initial conversations with potential language buddies and language coaches, linking coaches and buddies, maintaining contacts and administering various things. TaalVerbindt helps people build language skills. In order to seek and find one's way in society, by practicing conversations and making contacts on a regular basis.
Brenda Huizinga,
project coordinator AMIF participation and language
I am Brenda Huizinga. I have lived in Rijen since 2006 (never before in one place for so long). I like that I can use my talents here and contribute to making it an even more beautiful society. Of course, this wouldn't be possible without the help of the great volunteers from VIPvoorElkaar and the great colleagues.
I have been a (temporary) AMIF (Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund) participation and language project coordinator since April 1, 2021 and therefore have the #Participate project in my portfolio. Together with the AZC in Gilze, we try to get newcomers to participate as quickly as possible by doing volunteer work, among other things. This way they learn more about the Dutch language and culture more quickly and get a better start to participating.
In addition to my work, I am the proud mother of a care-intensive family: a 17-year-old daughter with an intellectual disability and an 11-year-old foster daughter. Fortunately, I don't do this alone, but together with my husband Raymond, who works in higher education. Hopefully we will meet in real life soon, see you then!
Annemarie Mols-Claassen,
project coordinator
My name is Annemarie Mols, married, mother of 3. I have lived in Rijen since 2001 and was already familiar with volunteer work. During my social work training, I did an internship at VIPvoorElkaar and gained a lot of knowledge from various projects.
After my internship, I started working as a project coordinator on various projects. I can also regularly be found at the Budget Café to fill out forms or answer questions.
Working at VIPvoorElkaar gives a lot of positive energy and I am happy to contribute to that.
Rob Stapels,
volunteer, web designer
What can you expect from me as a web designer? I will be working on this great new challenge for associations and volunteer organizations to maintain websites so that they are up to date! Of course I can also help you create websites for you in WordPress and later also in Joomla! I can also teach volunteers to keep their websites up to date themselves. A few years ago I studied to become an IT employee. That was quite a while ago, but I still have sufficient knowledge of it. Are you also looking forward to this great collaboration? Well, I do and I hope we will have a lot of fun working together! See you soon.
Carola Vrolijk,
volunteer
My name is Carola and I have lived in Rijen since 1995. I now know many faces from our village. Most people know me from my walks with my dogs. You may have also seen me under the stairs of the shopping center in Rijen, where we have a mobile office with VIPvoorElkaar during market hours. If you call our number you will sometimes get me on the phone. I call myself a Flying Chicken within VIPvoorElkaar. I am also one of the people behind the Facebook page “VIP meets” and I enjoy bringing people together in an accessible way. Together is so much more fun than alone!
Ruud of London,
volunteer, coordinator Come Join lunch Rijen
I am Ruud from London. After living in Rijen for 47 years, I now live in Breda, but I still remain active as coordinator of the monthly Kom Erbij lunch in Rijen. In 2019, together with Marian Willemstein, I started providing a lunch for +/- 20 guests. Now there are approximately 50 on the first Friday of the month. The number of volunteers who now come to help provide lunch has now risen to 6.
Joke Gillis-van Vught,
volunteer, project coordinator Reads
After reading an advertisement in the weekly magazine, I enthusiastically started as a reading volunteer in 2016. It is so much fun to do and gives such positive energy. The youth have the future and knowledge is power. How important is it if you can read and understand the language. I have been (co) project coordinator since 2020. I make and maintain contacts with the applicants; schools, GGD and playgroups and do the intake with the families that are registered. We match these families with our volunteers who will then read there for a season. For me, this volunteer work is a nice way to contribute.
Anne van Gool,
intern
Hi, my name is Anne van Gool, I am 17 years old and I am in my second year of the social work course. I am coming to do an internship at VIP this year. I really want to help people and I thought this would be a great place to offer/give everyone the help they need. You can meet me on Wednesdays and Fridays.
.
Suze van Brunschot,
intern
Hi, I'm Suze van Brunschot. I am 16 years old and come from Rijen. I am doing the Social Work course at the curio in Breda. I am in year 1 and this year I am doing an internship at VIP. I always wanted to help people and I thought VIP was the perfect place to do an internship because they have many different types of projects to help people. You can meet me on Thursdays and Fridays.

Caroline Bijl,
volunteer, VIPLoket and Taal Verbindt
After working for the same employer for 29 years, it suddenly stopped for me and I had to look for another way to spend my time. I felt that at the age of 64 I was not yet ready to do nothing anymore.
I had previously seen the vacancy for VIPLoket coordinator on the notice board “under the escalator” in the Laverije and already thought: that is really something for me!
I have now been working as a VIPLoket coordinator since September 2023 and try to link a request for help to an enthusiastic volunteer and vice versa!
And the great thing is: there is a fun activity for every volunteer, whether it is regular or occasional, there are plenty of requests for help on our site or with one of our projects.
I also support the TaalVerbindt team.
.
Vayda Geers,
intern
My name is Vayda Geers. I am 22 years old and am in the 4th and final year of the Social Work course at Avans University of Applied Sciences. I live in rooms in Breda and, in addition to my studies, I work at a café in the city center! In the coming months I will be working on a graduation research at VIPvoorElkaar. During this research I will focus on positive psychology during conversations. In my work I think it is important to empower people by seeing what someone can already do themselves. This way we can continue to build on the talents that a person possesses! I am curious about what insights the research will give me and the organization. You can meet me when I participate in various activities, but I also occasionally work on my research from home. I try to work on location most days a week, so see you soon!
